Having successfully held senior educational leadership roles in a variety of educational settings for over twenty years, with early careers in both the private sector and local government. Maxine is an experienced and highly qualified Senior Educational Leader with extensive background and proven track record in Strategic Educational Business, Financial and Operational Management including Professional Training, Development and Consultancy. Maxine is currently the Chief Finance & Operations Director at Apollo Partnership Multi-Academy Trust which includes both primary and secondary academies in Leicestershire, Chair of the Leicestershire Academies Group representing over 100 Academies and a Member of the DfE Academies Finance and Assurance Steering Group Working Party which drives improvements to meet the needs of the academy sector. Maxine also write articles for various educational publications, contributes to government good practice and guidance, provides training, presentations and consultancy for various schools, academies, Governance and educational focused conferences and organisations.

  • Harnessing effective financial planning and monitoring to identify trends towards an increasing deficit and implementing an appropriate recovery plan
  • Supporting collaboration between senior leaders and trust boards to develop an actionable cost reduction programme
  • Developing rigorous in year scrutiny and reporting of financial performance and spending
  • Sharing practical guidance which can support deficit recovery including salary reviews, rationalising procurement and reducing supply costs
